Forming: Place the mixed raw materials into molds and use compression molding technology to create the basic shape of the grinding wheel.
Sintering: Place the formed grinding wheel into a kiln and perform sintering treatment at high temperatures to enhance its strength and hardness.
Finishing: The sintered grinding wheel needs to be trimmed to achieve the correct dimensional accuracy and shape requirements.
Testing: Conduct strict testing on the grinding wheel, including destructive testing, hardness testing, and balance testing, to ensure its quality and safety.
Factors affecting the forming quality of grinding wheels include the uniformity of materials, forming pressure, sintering temperature, and time. The agglomeration of materials needs to be avoided through stirring to ensure performance stability. The forming pressure should be adjusted according to the thickness and density requirements of the grinding wheel, while the sintering temperature and time directly affect the hardness and strength of the grinding wheel.
The differences in forming different types of grinding wheels mainly lie in the selection of materials and forming processes. For example, resin grinding wheels require the use of release agents and epoxy resin liquids to ensure the bonding between the matrix and the grinding wheel, while diamond grinding wheels need to control temperature and time during the hot pressing process to ensure the firm bonding of the diamond layer. These differences require different process parameters and control measures to be adopted in the forming operation.
